FAQ

WHY ARE YOU HAVING A DESTINATION WEDDING?

We fell in love with the idea of spending extended time celebrating our union with our dearest friends & family... in paradise! Therefore, expect minimal stress, little hassle, full service 24/7, and most importantly no missed or rushed conversations.

WHY/HOW DID YOU CHOOSE MOON PALACE?

We literally researched & vetted hundreds of resorts in locales all over the world. Moon Palace not only ended up being the best price for the quality of grounds & amenities being offered, but during our visit, we also found they have the absolute happiest & nicest staff we've ever met.

CAN WE MAKE IT A FAMILY VACATION OR BRING OTHERS NOT ON THE INVITE?

Absolutely! Especially if it means the difference between you coming or not. Vacations can be a big deal, so we did not put specific guest numbers on the invites for a reason. If you want to make more out of the trip for you and yours (extended family and/or friends), please feel free to do so! Anyone you travel with under our group is more than welcome at the wedding & reception. We simply ask that you book through Thea to help her & us keep track of everyone attending.

ARE ANY GUESTS BRINGING CHILDREN?

The majority of guests with children have expressed a desire to make this a couple's vacation. However, we purposely sought out a kid friendly resort to allow you to make the decision yourself. Some of the group excursions or events may not exactly be "kid-friendly"; regardless the resort has an extensive range of activities & services for all age groups (including day care). Our travel agent, Thea Foley, can help with your questions and help to make arrangements. You can also visit the Public Relations desk during your visit for assistance after arrival.

IS THE ENTIRE RESORT KID FRIENDLY?

No. Moon Palace is a BIG resort with four hotels on site. There are specific areas & pools for children, and adult-only areas as well. This was another reason we chose the location since it offers such a wide range of options for everyone.

WHAT DOES "ALL-INCLUSIVE" ACTUALLY INCLUDE AT MOON PALACE?

Once you enter the resort there is no charge for food, drink, and most other items. Period. "Enjoy unlimited food and beverage (top-shelf alcoholic or non), nightly entertainment, 24-hour room service, a liquor dispenser & minibar in your guest room, and an abundance of other services & amenities, without concern for cost. It’s all covered in the All-Inclusive Features, even all taxes and gratuities."

As with any resort, some extended guest areas do have fees such as the spas, golf course, gift shops, and many off-site excursions. However, depending on your length of stay, Moon Palace shines by giving you resort credits to help offset or completely cover these costs as well!

DO WE HAVE TO BOOK MOON PALACE LODGING THROUGH YOUR TRAVEL AGENT?

In order to attend our wedding & associated events, yes. To achieve the lowest pricing for everyone, we have negotiated a group contract which is being managed by Thea Foley. If you do not book through Thea, we will not be able to add you to the guest lists due to resort security & contractual regulations.

We really did A LOT of research to take as much off our guests' plates as possible, and are not exaggerating when saying we have not found lower pricing than what our contract with Thea will offer. If you have reservations about this, or in the slim chance have found better pricing, please contact us directly! We will do everything we can to resolve any concerns or discrepancies.

CAN WE STAY OFFSITE AT ANOTHER HOTEL OR RESORT?

Please read the above answer. Since Moon Palace is an all-inclusive resort, outside visitors may be allowed to purchase (a fairly steep) per person entry fee. However, due to logistics beyond our control, we still cannot guarantee access to the wedding ceremony or reception for non-guests.

DO WE HAVE TO BOOK FLIGHTS THROUGH YOUR TRAVEL AGENT?

No, but it is also highly recommended. Guests already reserving travel have said Thea was able to offer the same or slightly better flight pricing than their own searches. Our reason for working with Thea is to keep everything as simple & budget friendly as possible for our guests. Not only does she have many years of booking experience, she will also keep track of every single guest as needs arise on your end or ours. Her package bookings include all taxes & airport transfers, something which will cost you extra headache & money to sort out on your own. She can also assist if there are any last minute changes or situations that occur while on the trip. Make sure to ask her about trip insurance options.

CAN WE USE OUR CELL PHONES IN MEXICO?

Yes, and we recommend you contact your provider BEFORE departure. In example, we use Verizon Wireless who has the option to add Mexico coverage for only $2 per day per device. This daily rate rate simply extended our existing plan/contract into Mexico for the days we were there. This meant we did not have to worry about adding international minutes & data, or be hit with the much more expensive rates for roaming.

As we learn more about what other providers offer this section will be updated.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT? DOES MY CHILD?

100% YES ON BOTH! And it must also have at least 6 months remaining beyond your departure flight from Mexico. If you show up without a passport, or if it expires in less than 6 months after your return flight, you may be denied entry into the country. The U.S. Passport Office currently states the standard turnaround time for a new application is 6 weeks, and expedited applications may be 2-4 weeks.

CAN WE DRINK THE TAP WATER AT THE RESORT?

Moon Palace does have a water purification plant on the property, and their water is considered safe to consume. We did not have any issues during our stay, and honestly didn't pay much attention to the small items such as brushing teeth or the ice in our drinks. Regardless, we would still recommend minimal ingestion of water from the tap. The resort freely provides as much bottled water as you want, so we'd suggest avoiding filling up your personal water bottle from the faucet. This is especially true for anyone with an overly sensitive stomach.

Please remember to take precautions regarding water when you are away from the resort property! Only drink bottled water, be aware of ice, and even vegetables rinsed in local water (generally around small villages).
