THE RESORT
A 4.5 Star, 4 Diamond ResortMoon Palace is a 2404+ room resort with 4 on-site hotels, and was recently awarded Travel & Leisure 500 status. Enjoy All Inclusive amenities, a 27 hole signature golf course, full-service spas, and 10 outdoor pools. Other amenities include 20+ restaurants, a nightclub, a children's pool, and a 24-hour fitness center.
THE ROOMS
Far Above StandardAll rooms are not only air-conditioned, but also have jacuzzi tubs. All provide free mini-bar items, an alcohol dispenser, balconies or patios, iPod docks, and 42-inch LED TVs with satellite channels. Enjoy relaxing touches like rainfall showers and jetted tubs, bathrooms offer hair dryers and free toiletries.
ENTERTAINMENT
Shows & ActivitiesEntertainment is always ongoing. Daily & nightly activities include a Mexican night & fire show, karaoke, theme parties, contests, singers and live performances. Many fun sports activities take place on the beach and throughout the resort. Bike riding, beach soccer, football, are just some fun activities in addition to the two state-of-the-art fitness centers.
From the Brazilian steak house to Asian cuisine/sushi, and then back around to the pool side grills & the all-day buffet, you'll have a fun time deciding where to eat! Only 2 restaurants and the hibachi grill require reservations. Tip: Check the dress code before you head out at night.
Live performances are a regular sight at the resort. Your All-Inclusive stay also gives you access to many popular top shelf spirits, wines*, & beer. There are quite a few bars inside & out, including a dance club. Tip: Make sure to check out the award winning swim up oasis.
Need a late night snack? Each guest has free access to 24 hour room service. There are also round the clock snack & coffee bars in the Sunrise & Nizuc lobbies. Tip: The French baguette sandwiches in Sunrise are unbeatable & addicting.
Take a dip in one of the largest pools in Mexico, which can take 30 minutes just to walk around! There is also a water slide, a FlowRider wave pool, an adult-only infinity pool, and more. Don't forget the 1.5 miles of sandy beach front. Tip: The Concierge upgrade gives you access to the VIP beach area.
Unwind with a massage, jacuzzi / steam, or stand under a relaxing waterfall in any one of the resort spas. Then, plan to join us for a round on the 27 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course (TBD). Tip: You can use your resort credit to offset the cost or fully pay for these services.**
You'll find an activity desk in each lobby, and near some of the pools. Go visit Mayan ruins, ride ATV's through the jungle, play with dolphins, or find a zipline. Tip: Offsite activities have a fee, yet many can be paid for with your credits. The same probably goes for anything requiring a boat or guide.
Nearly the entire resort has WiFi, and calls to the U.S. & Canada are free from your room! Tip: See the FAQ page for info on how to extend your cell phone coverage.
Moon Palace is a VERY large resort. Free shuttles run between the hotel lobbies frequently. Tip: A 20 peso note and a smile can land you a solo cart ride even faster.
All areas of the resort are stroller, wheelchair, and come-along accessible. Tip: Ask Thea during booking, or touch base with the resort to inquire about your needs.

Resort credits are offered back to guests for use on misc services, activities, or item purchases which fall outside the All-Inclusive package. Amount of credit depends on length of stay (Per room, not per person): 3 nights = $500, 4 nights = $750, 5-8 nights = $1500. 9-11 nights = $2000, 12+ nights = $2500. OUR VISION
As with any bride & groom we wanted to make our wedding as memorable as possible, and loved the idea of not feeling rushed into a single special day. Therefore, we spent a lot of time searching for the perfect, unique location where we could throw back & relax with loved ones.
THE SEARCH
We started with options such as Sandals & Iberostar across many islands, to far off exotic worlds in opposite hemispheres, back to renowned Jamaican hospitality, then South American remote locales, and finally had to stop with beautiful St. Lucia intimacy... because everything we were looking at required extra travel expense. It simply did not feel right to ask our guests to spend more than necessary before even arriving, so we dug deeper. Next we looked into budget travel time frames and found mid-November (before the holidays) to be some of the cheapest airfare & lodging dates worldwide, while the Mayan Riviera proved to be one of the most weather protected areas during the end of the wet season.
A CLEAR CHOICE
Moon Palace kept popping up on our radar, and we put it on our shrinking list of resorts to personally visit. From there, everything quickly fell into place. Moon Palace is a short shuttle ride south from Cancún's International Airport (CUN) without really being in Cancún. The resort's personnel & positive energy far out shined all of our other choices. All-Inclusive means our guests have no hidden fees or extra budgeting beyond the booking, and there is little left wanting with everything Moon Palace has to offer. Last, the resort's expanse & extra amenities are 5-star level while the pricing came close to nearby 3-star options.
SPECIAL GROUP PRICING
We honestly didn't want to leave Moon, and almost left every other hotel early just to go back! So before we flew home, we sat down with their team, negotiated a discounted group contract for the wedding, and then finalized a partnership with a travel agent to bring everyone the best pricing & group organization possible.
Seth & Kerry will be spending two weeks at Moon Palace from November 3rd through the 17th. The bride & groom see this entire time frame as their wedding celebration, meaning anyone is wholeheartedly welcome to join them at the resort for any duration before and after the ceremony.
